Genomics is changing the way healthcare will be delivered, and requires a workforce that is ready to embrace its potential. While the ‘Genomics Game: print and play’ is suitable for in-person teaching, this quiz has been devised with remote and hybrid teaching in mind. It has been designed to support educators to run sessions for healthcare professionals who have little to no genomics knowledge. Content is focussed on foundational genetics and genomics concepts, including how they are applied in healthcare.
Quiz and learn
This learning resource is split into two slide decks and includes question (quiz) slides and information slides. Both allow for teaching moments and the latter has prompts for group discussions. Learners can work through the question slides either as individuals as part of a lecture, or in teams using peer or collaborative learning techniques.
This resource is based upon ‘The Genomics Game’, which is aligned to the nursing associate curricula framework and the Nursing and Midwifery Council standards of proficiency for registered nurses. This presented quiz is not exclusively for nurses, however, and can be used by any healthcare professional who may be unfamiliar with this topic.
