Isobel’s story: genomic testing and treatment for cancer
This film series, ‘My genomics journey: three perspectives’, was developed to shine a light on the breadth of experiences of patients living with genomic conditions, and to understand the life-changing impact that a diagnosis can have for a person and their family.
In this film, we speak to Isobel who underwent genomic testing after being diagnosed with lung cancer. She explains the challenges she faced after receiving her diagnosis, and the powerful impact of the treatment she received on her quality of life.
This video was developed as part of a two-week online course, Genomics in the NHS: A clinician’s guide to genomic testing for cancer (solid tumours), hosted by FutureLearn.
Isobel was contacted with kind permission from The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
