Funded CPPD modules in genomics
Individual modules tailored to support healthcare professionals in order to keep updated in genomic and precision medicine
The Genomics Education Programme (GEP) is offering all NHS professionals fully-funded continuing personal and professional development (CPPD) modules to enable healthcare staff to learn more about Genomics and its impact on the future of healthcare.
The 16 modules have been designed to enhance knowledge in key areas of genomic medicine and can be taken individually, or together, as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-professional course that can be applied to both clinical practice and medical research. Popular modules include:
- Introduction to human genetics and genomics
- Genomics of common and rare inherited disease
- Molecular pathology of cancer
- Counselling skills for genomics
- Advanced bioinformatics
The modules are delivered over an average of six weeks (four weeks of lectures or class based learning and two weeks of assessment) and you no longer need to complete an assessment to complete the module. HEE are able to provide funding for study of up to three modules of CPPD per year.
The modules are being delivered by a national network of ten universities across England. Some of the modules may be delivered remotely or via e-learning, so please contact your chosen university to confirm availability.
