Get ready for genomics in healthcare with a funded PGCert
Limited fully funded places available for Master’s level postgraduate certificate in genomic medicine
Six of our university partners – Cambridge, Exeter, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield and Southampton – are now accepting applications for funded postgraduate certificate places starting in autumn 2017.
The PGCert in Genomic Medicine has been developed specially to provide NHS staff with a multidisciplinary perspective on genomics and its application in medicine. It is suitable for health professionals from a wide range of backgrounds, including nursing, midwifery, medicine and science. The course is also suitable for non-healthcare professionals, such as those working in public health or commissioning.
Places are limited, so anyone wishing to study for the postgraduate certificate is advised to submit their application as soon as possible. Those wishing to study at Cambridge should note the application process for 2017/18 academic year closes on 24th April.
Funding for these courses is available through the Genomics Education Programme, and the funding application form needs to be submitted simultaneously with the university application. Applicants must also secure their manager’s approval to undertake the PGCert.
Individual modules available
There are also a number of fully funded continuing personal and professional development (CPPD) modules available through our university partners, which will support healthcare staff to keep up with and stay ahead of developments in genomic and precision medicine.
The modules are open to the full range of clinical professions and NHS managers, and credits from individual modules can be built up into a postgraduate certificate or diploma.
