Master’s in Genomics Market Engagement Event
Advanced notice of intent to tender for academic Master’s programme in Genomic Medicine
Health Education England (HEE) is planning to release an invitation to tender (ITT) for education providers interested in delivering its highly successful Master’s programme in Genomic Medicine.
The programme is designed to educate NHS healthcare professionals from across the multi-professional team (such as medicine, nursing, pharmacists, scientists and technologists) to prepare them for the application of genomic technologies and the increasing use of genomic information as part of the diagnostic and treatment pathway.
This is an exciting opportunity for providers to engage with the ongoing delivery of the 100,000 Genomes Project and the transformation of the health system by educating NHS healthcare professionals to meet changes in patient care, which will be introduced through the sequencing of whole genomes and their application across healthcare.
We are looking for higher education institutions with a strong track record in delivering excellent and innovative teaching programmes and with recognised research excellence in genomic science and medicine. We will be looking for a geographical spread of provision and equitable access for all staff.
HEE will fund the course fees for a defined number of NHS staff who enrol on the programme. The programme will be delivered with full-time and predominantly part-time options, and also provide modules to be accessed as part of workforce transformation and Continuing Personal and Professional Development.
The date for the proposed ITT will be announced at the event on the 12th July.
Open day event
An open information day for interested parties will provide an opportunity for potential providers to find out more about the aims of the tender and contracts, the process involved, as well as network with others. HEE will use the opportunity to gather intelligence from providers that may influence the final tender.
