The Genomics Conversation 2022: ‘Lets talk genomics’
Not everyone needs to know everything about genomics – but the right level of knowledge and confidence can make a huge difference to how we communicate
On Monday 20 June, the Genomics Education Programme (GEP) will launch its fifth annual #GenomicsConversation campaign. This year, the event will focus on helping healthcare professionals to feel confident when talking about genomics with both colleagues and patients.
Starting the conversation
Each day of the week will be themed around different areas of genomics communication: from where conversations can happen, to common questions and the ‘clinical clues’ that may be cause for action, and where to find out more.
During the week, we will provide an assortment of free online activities to support learners, including interactive resources, videos, animations and more. Further details will be available in the coming weeks via our website, and we will provide regular updates via social media; look out for us on Twitter and Facebook.
Get involved
We will also be launching a downloadable package of social media resources so you can join us in promoting the week. We’ll bring you more on how to kickstart your #GenomicsConversation with colleagues and patients soon.
If you have any ideas for activities in your workplace or region or would like to get involved in this campaign, please get in touch with the GEP team.
